Next Communications, Inc. acquired by GLS Companies, Inc.

Northern Edge is pleased to announce the acquisition of Next Communications, Inc., a full-service integrated business-to-business marketing communications (IMC) company, by GLS Companies, Inc. The transaction was led by Deal Leader, Andrew Wood with the support of Project Manager, Christy Helm out of the Fort Worth, Texas office. Northern Edge served as the exclusive financial advisor to Next Communications, Inc.

President of Next Communications, Dennis Gallaher states, “Northern Edge utilized an extremely well-defined and effective process to define and locate the very best prospects to maximize my proceeds from the sale of my business.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition serves as part of GLS’s strategic offering to advance integrated, multi-channel marketing capabilities to select customers. Next Communications is a Minnetonka, Minnesota-based marketing communications firm founded in 1991. The company serves local, national and international clients.

“With the acquisition of Next Communications, GLS can now offer significantly enhanced, strategic marketing services to our customers, including digital and web solutions,” stated Jayme Wisely, President/COO of GLS. “We feel the additional capabilities of Next helps deliver our strategic evolution toward multi-channel engagement, one-to-one messaging and mass customization including on-demand, digital and database-driven solutions for our customers.”

GLS Companies is widely known for its broad capabilities in variable digital printing, sheet fed and web printing, as well as extensive direct mailing, distribution and fulfillment services. With more than 300 employees in their Brooklyn Park, MN headquarters and St. Paul, MN locations, their combined facilities produce $55 million in annual revenue.

Next Communications will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of GLS Companies and will continue to operate in their Minnetonka, MN location.
