Alexander “Lex” Colley
1974 – 2021
We remember Alexander “Lex” Colley, a dear colleague, friend, and esteemed member of our Senior Transaction Advisory team. He enjoyed an outstanding career in investment banking, having completed more than one hundred M&A and financing assignments and serving as a trusted advisor to many clients.
Lex joined the predecessor to Northern Edge in 2012, bringing to the Firm over fifteen years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, public equity and debt offerings, buyouts, private placements, and leveraged recapitalizations. In 2019, he relocated from New York to Los Angeles to serve as head of the California office and spearhead the expansion of our west coast operations.
During his tenure at the Firm, Lex advised companies across a broad range of industries, including technology, media, telecom, life sciences, consumer products and industrials. In 2017, he was the lead banker on the merger of Aergo Solutions LLC and Citadel Outsource Group, LLC, which was recognized as Deal of the Year ($10 – $25 million value range) at the 16th Annual M&A Advisor Awards.
Lex was known not only for his market knowledge, transactional expertise, tremendous drive and commitment to our clients’ success, but also for being a wonderful colleague. He was generous with both his time and insights, always willing to help anyone across the Firm, passionate about building relationships and contributing to the success of our team.
Lex’s Wall Street experience included working with the firms Alex Brown & Sons in New York City and Salomon Smith Barney in California.
Lex passed away unexpectedly in January 2021. He is survived by his parents, Roger and Janice, his brother, Ken, two sisters, Carolyn and Debbie, and their families.
We will forever cherish his memory and be inspired by his wisdom and professionalism, his dedication to our clients and to our team, his friendship, kindness, integrity, humor, and positive attitude.
