Northern Edge Advisors has again been commended for its outstanding work by the 17th Annual International M&A Awards, hosted by The M&A Advisor, winning a Private Equity Deal of the Year Award for the successful sale of Datascope North America, Inc. (“Datascope” or the “Company”) to Syspro US Inc. (“Syspro”), a portfolio company of the global private equity firm Advent International (“Advent”).

This recognition from one of the premier benchmarks for dealmaking excellence is a testament to Northern Edge Advisors’ exceptional capabilities and extensive track record for successfully selling private companies, solidifying the Firm’s reputation as a leading middle market advisor. The winners were selected by an independent panel of industry experts from around the world, representing a broad range of sectors and disciplines within the dealmaking community.

Bob Goldsmith, President of Northern Edge Advisors, commented:

“Delivering the best possible outcome for our clients has always been our mission and we are delighted to receive this acknowledgement for our expertise, creativity, and dedication. Congratulations to our clients and to the team.”

Anton Jurgens founded the Company’s predecessor in 2001 as a consulting firm that implemented software solutions throughout South Africa. Anton soon identified a more attractive opportunity and developed Datascope WMS, a warehouse management system.  Datascope North America, Inc. was incorporated in 2016 to expand operations into North America.

After two decades of exhausting work, the owners, Anton and his brother Ben, determined in 2023 to commence an evaluation of their exit options, which led them to engage the experts at Northern Edge Advisors.

The transaction, the latest in a series of successful completions involving complex structuring and multiple jurisdictions, demonstrates Northern Edge Advisors’ acumen in designing and managing a highly competitive process. In this case, Northern Edge Advisors leveraged the competitive dynamics to negotiate an attractive deal with Syspro that exceeded Anton and Ben’s financial expectations and provided a clear path to their retirement.

With more than 16,000 customers in over 60 countries across six continents, Syspro is a leading global software provider specializing in key manufacturing and distribution industries.

The acquisition of Datascope represented the next step in Syspro’s strategic growth plan under Advent’s ownership, which involves expanding functional depth with operational scale, while preserving Syspro’s core focus on manufacturing and distribution. With a strong global customer base and proven domain expertise, Datascope expands Syspro’s capabilities in warehouse and inventory management, enabling a more unified and scalable ERP experience tailored to the needs of modern manufacturers and distributors.  Ultimately, these operational benefits are anticipated to translate into improved financial returns for Syspro, as it captures greater wallet share from existing customers, penetrates new market segments more effectively, and builds a stickier, higher-margin recurring revenue base.

The winners of the 17th Annual International M&A Awards will be formally recognized during the 2026 Leadership in Dealmaking Summit, taking place on September 14 and 15, 2026 in New York City.

This is the second consecutive International M&A Award won by Northern Edge Advisors.
