Northern Edge Advisors has been honored once again by The M&A Advisor, winning the Professional Services Deal of the Year (up to $50 million) for the successful sale of the assets of SCSR L.L.C. (d/b/a Sheshunoff Consulting + Solutions) (“SCSR”) to Wipfli LLP (“Wipfli”).

This marks the ninth consecutive year our firm has been recognized at the awards ceremony held annually at the New York Athletic Club.

In addition, we were selected as finalists in several other Deal of the Year categories.

This recognition of our dealmaking excellence underscores the high esteem in which Northern Edge Advisors is held within the M&A community and reinforces our reputation as a premier advisor in the middle market.

In 2024, more than 500 companies were nominated, showcasing the breadth and quality of talent across the industry.

The acquisition of certain assets of SCSR, L.L.C. by Wipfli LLP won Professional Services Deal of the Year (up to $50 million).

Gabrielle Sheshunoff Bekink, the founder of SCSR, has enjoyed a varied and successful career including owning Sheshunoff & Co., a Boston Investment Bank, and serving as an EVP of John de Kuyper and Zoon B.V. Canada, Ltd., the storied Dutch liquor group. In addition, she co-founded Sheshunoff Information Services in 1971 and was its chief executive until 1988, when it was acquired by Thomson Reuters. Northern Edge has advised Ms. Sheshunoff on M&A matters for over a decade.

Based in Boston, SCSR pioneered outsourced internal audit and loan review services to community banks, credit unions, and midsized financial institutions offering specialized expertise, advanced technological solutions, and significant cost efficiencies.

The acquisition is expected to accelerate Wipfli’s growth, diversify and expand its service offering, enhance its value proposition, competitive edge and ability to meet a broader range of client needs.  In addition, 70 new members will be added to Wipfli’s existing risk management and loan review services team, bringing the firm’s total practice size to more than 210 associates.
